A four-storey dilapidated building in central Kolkata's Burrabazaar area, the biggest wholesale hub of eastern India, collapsed on Tuesday, killing three members of a family. The three victims – an aged couple and their middle-aged daughter – were trapped inside a room when the building collapsed, the police said.
The building in question was allegedly marked as “dangerous”. The area was cordoned off and the building evacuated.
The Lucknow metro rail was flagged off on Tuesday from the city's Transport Nagar by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Several other ministers rode along with the CM and the union minister on the metro, which will be open to the public from Wednesday.

Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations told the U.N. Security Council that the United States "will look at every country that does business with North Korea as a country that is giving aid to their reckless and dangerous nuclear intentions."
Haley made her comments as the U.N. Security Council held its second emergency meeting in a week about North Korea after the country said it detonated a hydrogen bomb underground Sunday.
Nikki Haley, also added that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's actions indicate that he is "begging for war."
