CBI raided Rashtriya Janata Dal Chief Lalu Yadav’s house and filed fresh corruption cases regarding tender of IRCTC owned hotels. An FIR has been lodged in the case. Apart from Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi and son Tejashwi Yadav, others named in the FIR include his confidant Prem Chand Gupta and his wife Sarla Gupta, Vijay Kochhar, Vinay Kochhar, Delight Marketing Company, and PK Goel.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials conducted raids at Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram’s residence in Chennai. Raids were done in at least 14 different locations, including Mumbai, Chandigarh and Gurugram. The early morning raids at the former Finance and Home Minister's residence were conducted in connection with Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearances given to INX Media (now called 9X Media) when it was run by Peter and Indrani Mukerjea, and Chidambaram was then the Finance Minister.
