Jagga Jasoos actor Bidisha Bezbaruah, who allegedly commited suicide in her Gurugram home, was cremated in her hometown of Guwahati earlier this week. Known to be a happy person, her family and friends are deeply shocked and are demanding a thorough investigation into the mysterious circumstances around her death.
Twenty-four students have committed suicide in Kota in the last sixteen months. What’s common between them is that they were all enrolled at one of the 130-odd coaching institutes in the largest, most successful coaching hub in the country. Though these students form a small percentage of the 1.5 lakh students who come to Kota each year, they cannot be brushed aside as mere statistics.

A 32-year-old man hanged himself from a ceiling fan in Haryana’s Sonipat district and livestreamed the suicide on his Facebook page, police said on Sunday. Sonipat SP Ashwin Shenvi said Deepak scribbled the reason behind him taking the extreme step on the wall of his room before ending his life. The man wrote that he was “facing threat to his life from a married woman in his neighbourhood and her alleged lover after he told her husband about their illicit relationship”. Shenvi said Deepak livestreamed the suicide on his Facebook page. The family members of the deceased man allege that the woman he blamed in the suicide note and her lover are employed with Delhi Police, while her husband is working with Haryana Police.
