The Quint | Exclusive: Kalikho Pul’s Widow Releases 60 Page Suicide Note

In the wake of The Quint’s investigative stories on bribery charges against top serving Supreme Court judges by Arunachal Pradesh late Chief Minister Kalikho Pul, sources close to him on Friday revealed that there is “documentary evidence” in the form of “receipts” that could expose the judges.
In an exclusive interview to The Quint in Delhi, Kalikho Pul’s widow Dangwimsai demanded a high-level investigation against the bribery charges made by her late husband, saying that the Supreme Court judges should step down to pave the way for a “free and fair” probe.
Pul’s widow said that she has moved the Supreme Court to seek permission for an investigation against the two senior judges who sought and took bribes through agents and middlemen. She is seeking legal opinion on the issue, though the first moves have been made to lodge a criminal case against the judges.
The Quint had earlier revealed that relatives and middlemen of the two top Supreme Court judges had sought bribes from Pul, who coughed up Rs 60 crore after whittling down the initial demand for Rs 100 crore. Pul’s allegations of bribe-taking by the two apex court judges was in the context of President’s Rule that was imposed on Arunachal Pradesh in January 2016. The approaches to Pul, for seeking bribes, were made to Pul in July 2016. Less than a month later, Pul committed suicide in his Itanagar residence.
The evidence in the possession of Pul’s associates is in the form of a “receipt” for Rs 60 crore, which was the final amount settled between the then CM and the bribe-takers’ sons, relatives and agents.
