After Utkal, Chitrakoot is Another Rail Mishap Waiting to Happen | The Q...

The Utkal train derailment, which claimed several lives, is the latest in a string of rail mishaps in the country. However, the Railways authorities don’t seem to have learned any lessons from the tragedy, as is evident from the visuals of the Chitrakoot mela.
The UP district is all decked up to host lakhs of people for its annual mela. The festival, which commenced on 21 August, often sees mela attendees travelling on the roof of the trains to get to the venue.
These visuals have raised safety concerns, but Railways officials claim they have made the arrangements to cater to the large crowds.

UP Madarsa’s Defy ‘Fatwa’ And Recite National Anthem on 15 August - The Quint

Caught on Camera: Gram Pradhans Turn School into a ‘Dance Bar’ - The Quint

A government primary school, in Tetriya village of UP’s Jamalpur, was turned into a dance bar on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.
A program, attended by village heads of nearby areas, organised a dance act, where the girls were seen dancing on Bhojpuri songs.
The viral video and also shows the village heads trying to match their steps with the dancers and showering money on girls.
Primary Education officer Pravin Kumar Tiwari said investigation will be done in the same.

17-Yr-Old Girl Stabbed to Death by Five Men for Refusing to Talk | The Q...

A 17-year-old girl was murdered in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh by five boys, on Tuesday, who had been stalking her for months. She was stabbed When she protested against them for teasing her in Baansdeeh area.
"Ragni Dubey, a resident of Bajha village, was on her way to school on her bicycle when five men on two motorcycles intercepted her near Shankarpur Bhawani temple and pressured her to talk to them," SP Sujata Singh said.
"As the girl refused to talk, they pushed her bicycle and when she fell down on the road, they repeatedly stabbed her and left her bleeding profusely," she said.

Hospital Refuses Van, Man Carries Body of Infant Niece on Bicycle - The Quint

In a re-run of the Dana Majhi incident, the uncle of a seven-month-old girl, who died during treatment at the district hospital in Kaushambi (Uttar Pradesh), had to carry her body on a bicycle as his plea for an ambulance fell on deaf ears. The incident, which took place on Monday, prompted the authorities to lodge an FIR against the doctor on duty and the driver of the ambulance on Tuesday. The hospital too has launched an inquiry in this regard.

The Quint: Men Molest 2 Women, Post Act on Social Media in UP’s Rampur

Highlighting yet another case of lawlessness spreading in the state, a video of two girls being molested openly by a group of young men in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district, has set social media on fire.
Around 12 to 14 boys can be seen in the video, molesting the women, even while they pleaded to let them go.
Proving the sheer fearlessness of the perpetrators, the boys filmed the entire development and posted it on social media.
Besides manhandling and molesting the girls, the boys were laughing and making jokes the whole time, while the distraught girls kept on begging to be spared.
The culprits have been identified and the police have made one arrest, as the investigation is underway.
Earlier in March, after coming to power in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi-Adityanath Government has launched 'Anti-Romeo' squads to check on eve-teasing in public areas, to ensure the safety of girls in the state.
