Dr Rahul Ghoel and Dr Amol Ghoel have set up five Rupee 1 clinics at Central Railway (CR) stations in Mumbai. The clinics provide medical services including Emergency Medical Rooms (EMRs) and gynecology among others at just Rs 1.
Slated to come up in two months, the clinics will function throughout the clock and will have a mix of permanent and visiting doctors. The job of the CR though is only to provide space for the clinics, while the other costs will be borne by an external agency.
Following the directions of the high court, 15 more similar clinics will be set up at various stations of the Central and Western Railways in the coming months.
