Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke spoke to cricket analyst Nishant Arora about his love affair with India and the DRS contorversy involving Steve Smith.
The Quint’s cricket expert Nishant Arora said that India will need a lead of at least 250 runs to put the Australians under pressure in the second Test at Bengaluru. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane strung a partnership of 93 runs on day three and helped India post 213/4 until the close of play on Monday. The home side lead the Baggy Greens by 126 runs at the moment. Nishant added that the Australians will find it difficult to chase a target over 250 runs on a crumbling pitch in Bengaluru.
Australia are completely
dominating this Test match. They are in the driver’s seat. 298-run lead and they can still add another 30-40
or even a 100 runs and that will be very tough for India to get on this pitch.
This pitch is crumbling. Is it very difficult to survive on it. You have to
continuously play your shots. If you go there with the mindset that you will
block the ball, you are bound to get one good ball that will take your edge or
jump sharply from nowhere and you will be out.
