20 Years on, Google's Journey in 120 seconds | The Quint

Google was not always the search giant that it is today. It started as a research project for Larry Page and Sergey Brin when they were PHD scholars in Stanford University.
They first named it “backrub” but subsequently changed the name to Google. Their first domain was registered on 15 September, 1997.
What started as a garage project in a university dorm room has gone on to now operate from 50 different countries. Their motto? “Don’t be evil!”
