In a bizarre incident in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, a man allegedly beat his wife for sketching images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Nagma Parveen says that her husband began assaulting her when she showed him the pictures and drove her out of the house. Her father, Mohd. Shamsher Khan tried to resolve the matter through negotiation but it was of no avail. He even approached the village Panchayat who allegedly called his daughter a 'mad woman' and advised a divorce.
The couple had been married for a year, but the victim's father claims they were unaware of the man’s first marriage and that he was planning to marry the third time.
