In a barbaric incident, two youths were hung by ropes upside down on the suspicion of stealing chairs from a wedding ceremony.
The youth named Raj Kumar Bing and Birbal Bind were thrashed and publicly humiliated by a group of men including the wedding host, Mahangu Bind.
Raj Kumar and Birbal were released only after their relatives paid Rs 3,000 as compensation to the host.
The incident took place at Sanbarsa village under Nuaon block in Kaimur district. An FIR was registered after the fearful victims were assured of their security by the police.
So far, one person has been arrested in reference to the case and the rest, including Mahangu are absconding.
