PT Usha, who turns 53 on Tuesday, redefined Indian athletics during the 1980s and 1990s. She became the youngest Indian sprinter to compete at the Olympics when she took part in the 1980 Moscow Games at the age of 16.
In the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Usha finished fourth in the 400m hurdle event. She missed a bronze medal by 1/100th of a second.
