The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) decided to postpone the announcement of the name of the person who will take over as India’s next head coach on Monday. A member of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), Sourav Ganguly, said that the CAC needs to speak to the captain Virat Kohli and a few other people before they make their decision.
Five candidates were interviewed for the coach’s job on Monday. The prospective candidates were Lalchand Rajput, Virender Sehwag, Richard Pybus, Ravi Shastri and Tom Moody.
Ganguly intimated that the CAC will explain to Virat Kohli how the coaches want to function and that the skipper needs to understand how the coaches will operate.
