Though same-sex marriages are illegal in India, two Indian men showed courage and tied the knot in a traditional ceremony in Indore.
However, the marital union was not a defiant step taken to prove their love for each other, but to woo the rain god to shower his blessings on the village.
Dressed in traditional attire, friends Sakaram Ahirwar and Rakesh Adjan, both already married to their respective partners with children, from Indore in Madhya Pradesh, exchanged wedding vows in traditional Hindu customs.
The two friends, who work as labours, even organised a feast for their guests that included their wives and children.
