Virat Explains Why Ashwin & Shami Were Dropped From Pakistan Match

ICC’s 2016 International cricketer of the year, Ravichandran Ashwin, was omitted from India’s Champions Trophy match against Pakistan on 4 June, but captain Virat Kohli said the spinner understood the “team dynamic”.
Addressing the media ahead of India’s game against Sri Lanka on Thursday, the skipper revealed that while there have been "disagreements" with Ashwin, but they are specifically related to on-field technical issues and never over selection matters.
As a captain, Kohli has taken some tough calls including promotion of Hardik Pandya over Mahendra Singh Dhoni, but he again stressed on the camaraderie of the change room, which enables him to take the call that is beneficial for the team.
On Umesh Yadav being preferred over a more crafty Mohammed Shami, the skipper's logic was lack of game time.
