The Quint: Water ATMs Are In, Don’t Waste Money This World Water Day

Social worker Vikas Malik’s fears are a reality for a country where at least 8 crore people do not have access to safe drinking water.
On World Water Day, The Quint gets you familiar with an initiative named Pi-lo which makes an attempt to make drinking water more affordable and approachable to everyone.
Pi-lo, is a water vending machine that dispenses 250 ml of filtered water at Rs 2 for 250 ml and Rs 5 for a litre (around four times cheaper than bottled, mineral water).
The ‘water ATMs,’ are currently stationed around only a few places in Delhi/NCR, such as the metro stations at Karol Bagh, Rajiv Chowk and Botanical Garden.
