In a shocking incident, a man in Assam’s Majuli island district carried his dead brother’s body on a bicycle.
Due to the absence of a motorable road link, the man had to cross a makeshift bamboo bridge and carry his brother to a civil hospital in Garamur. Hospital authorities say he did not ask for the hospital ambulance or van before the admission of his ailing brother Dimple Das, nor after the death of the patient.
CM Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered a probe and directed health officials to reach the spot.
